The Saturday Morning Cartoon is Dead

Long live the Saturday morning cartoon!  According to this post from The Week magazine, the CW was the last broadcast network with children’s programming on Saturday mornings until recently.  CBS killed its Saturday morning kids shows last year and ABC pulled the plug in 2011.  NBC switched its Saturday morning lineup back in 1992 (Saved By the Bell, anyone?)

Tablettoddlers’ former Syracuse University professor Robert Thompson says Cable TV is the reason.  I would argue that it’s also due to on-demand programming on a myriad of mobile devices.  What do you think?
