P-Tech Prepares Students for Entry-Level Tech Jobs

Interesting article from the NYTimes…

A Brooklyn-based technology high school – Pathways in Technology Early College High School – is a six-year program tailored to give students interested in the technology industry an advantage, including an associate degree.

According to the piece, by 2017, the first wave of students at “P-Tech” is expected to emerge with associate’s degrees in applied science in computer information systems or electromechanical engineering technology, following a course of studies developed in consultation with I.B.M.

This program should be a model for cities across the U.S.  Good for them!
