Discovery Gets It

Came across this NY Times article about Discovery, the cable TV company, and its plans to enter the digital textbook market.

Getting into education makes sense considering movies, television, newspapers and magazines are in decline and media companies are under more pressure than ever to find new areas of expansion.

Discovery sees education as a growth opportunity too good to pass up.  I couldn’t agree more.  NBCUniversal, News Corp, the Financial Times and Disney are already on the digital education bandwagon.  Hopefully more “Big Media” will follow suit.
